STOPTOBER and 'Smokefreelife' - smoking cessation support service in North Lincolnshire
The countdown to Stoptober 2014 has begun. The Stoptober campaign is a government initiative to reduce smoking in the UK and was launched in 2012 to motivate the UK’s 10 million smokers to stop smoking for 28 days. Current research shows that people who stop smoking during this time are five times more likely to remain smoke free.
Solutions 4 Health, the new provider for North Lincolnshire's Stop Smoking Services, is seeking to work alongside GP's during Stoptober and beyond to support patients to become smoke free and stay that way through their 'Smokefreelife North Lincolnshire' programme.
'Embrace' patient member network launched: Becoming a member of Embrace gives North Lincolnshire residents an easy and flexible way to make sure their voice is heard. Any contribution is welcomed and highly valued and will help us to better understand what matters to local people as we plan health services. Patients can also join Embrace on website www.northlincolnshireccg.nhs.uk/embrace or by calling 01482 672156 or e-mailing NYHCSU.Talk2US@nhs.net to request a joining form.
Healthy Lives Healthy Futures: Full details of the options with reasons for our preferences can be found on our dedicated Healthy Lives Healthy Futures web site - www.healthyliveshealthyfutures.nhs.uk The site also gives an overview of the review process to date as well as FAQs and links to the current consultation documentation and consultation survey where people can submit their views online.
A series of public events and roadshows are scheduled during the consultation period where the public will have an opportunity to meet CCG staff to ask questions and share their views. A schedule of these events can also be found on the HLHF web site.
